Back up and clear the drive of personal files

Dharmendra Rama. A few years' worth of files must be stored safely, whether in an external hard drive or the cloud. Experts recommend clearing old computers of personal files, including search histories, software registration credentials, online banking details, and other private content. Deactivating profiles and user accounts will also allow the new user to install their own preferences without a hitch.

Do a fresh install of the OS

Sometimes, years of use can cause a computer to slow down. Even with hardware that seems to be in perfect condition, multitasking with different programs can cause it to work a little slower than usual. After clearing the computer of personal files, one should do a fresh install of the operating system. This is an effective way to speed up the system and to prepare it for use by the new owner. Creating one user account will allow the buyer to see if it still works well. Dharmendra Rama.

Clean up the exteriors

To make the laptop look great before finding a buyer, the owner should wipe the screen, keyboard, and ports. When selling a laptop that hasn't been used for quite a while, these parts can get dusty, and it can affect how the system works. Using a keyboard cleaner or monitor wipes will make the laptop or computer look good as new. Dharmendra Rama.
